The World of Dascapus
The Templar Order
The Templar Order was first raised in 887AC, during the reign of the Magister Imperium. While there was no formal Archpriest during that time, a holy man of the Lathander tribes, known as Guillen Sebastion, banded together a group of his holy men, trained them as warriors, specifically to battle blood mages and the demons that often possessed them. Over the course of the conflict, the accords of the Order were written down, allowing the Templars free reign, answerable only to the Archpriest, meaning the State could not intefere. When the Imperium was disolved, the Order was disbanded by Archpriest Duitas Almeria, believing the Order was no longer needed now that the Imperium was destroyed. The Knight-Commander at the time, Hariel Lavellan, formed the Tephrite Division of The Stone Legion, taking recruits from The Royal Mages College to bolster the ranks.
Abilities / Mechanics
Templars were originally trained to deal with blood mages and demons, often learning techniques that would make them more effective against spellcasters. A recruit was often put through a trial by fire (sometimes literally) before officially becoming part of the order.
Once a recruit has completed their arduous trial and gone through the joining ceremony, they gain the Mage Slayer feat for free, officially becoming a ranked Templar.
